The purpose of this site is to:
- Help Publishers find new Authors and outstanding
works, without abandoning existing models
of book acquisition. If they can ease into the new model, of a more direct dialog,
without a huge commitment, then they will
soon find that it is a truly viable, growing,
excitingly new model.
- Help Authors with unusual or outstanding
works find the right Publisher for their
books. The unique value of such works is
almost always unrecognized by Agents, so
author listings on this site should not be viewed as rejects, but as possibly unique
works with previously unrecognized potential.
- Help new Internet Publishing Companies get
started, by acquiring unique or unusual books
they can feature or showcase as different
from other book publishers, and so help them
carve out a special niche on the Internet.
- Help Authors find ways to publish directly
on the Internet, without having to suffer
being demeaned, blocked or delayed by Agents
and Publishers who only follow the outdated,
conventional model of book publishing.
Publishers and Authors are strongly encouraged
to advertise on this site, browse and search
the databases as they grow each month, contact
people, and get involved in discussions,
feedback, and communication with others in
their own position, or on opposite sides
of the fence. Editors and reviewers in the
Publishing Industry are encouraged to use
this site freely so they can be convinced
of its value to their company. Authors may
freely pursue any contacts that they find
on this site.
Important Rules for Using this Site
1. This is a non-profit site -- revenue to
keep it updated and current comes only from
Publishers and Authors who take out a page
on this site, featuring their works, or fields
of interest. There are different levels of
advertising, depending on how elaborate your
page is, and how mail is to be routed. See
the advertising page for details on prices and options. Remember,
to take out a page featuring yourself or
your company, not only greatly benefits you,
but also helps further the goal of more direct
communication.
2. Both Publishers and Authors may freely
use all parts of this site, without charge,
for their own benefit . We encourage participation
in feedback and discussion groups too. When
Publishers do make contact with Authors,
and a profitable liaison results, there is
no charge or commission owing to this site.
We do however encourage you to contribute
to it, as all input expands the site.
3. No one -- repeat, no one -- may profit as an intermediary from the
information or contacts listed on this site.
Other websites may not take or use contacts or lists on this site
for their own benefit, or profit from selling
"contact names" or other data to
other people. Neither may Agents of any kind
use the contacts and data on this site for
their own personal use or profit, or to sell
to others.
If anyone is aware that a third party may
be profiting from this site as an intermediary,
agent, or another site using our data, please
contact us immediately so we can stop it. Although
corporate and individual names in our databases
are obviously not copyrighted, the database
itself is copyrighted, as is all other information,
layout and presentation on this site -- hence,
it may not be used by others without permission
of the Publisher's Network.
